Im still ordering my new build off of newegg though, they remain the best by far for the DIY PC builder

lol.. u know how many times i have been in microcenter ready to make a purchase, only to give up & walk out after 15 minutes of waiting on line

Newegg has better prices except for rare occasions, plus its tax free.. if you are buying over $200 worth of stuff its definitely worth buying online. I only go to microcenter to buy little shit now, like replacement fans or cables. Sucks that compusa had to go out of business, I loved just walking around in there.

what is your new build setup going to be? I've always seen the Microcenter sales, but am too far away from any of the stores... i wish we had some Fry's near us.

We pay tax with newegg now

However, standard 3 day shipping comes in 24 hours

yeah, there has been tax for about 3-4 years now. I guess the perk is that as the warehouse is in NJ, that it gets shipped to us quick.

^^ For the amount newegg charges for shipping (if you don't buy a lot of stuff or small stuff), it better be here within 24 hours

However, to be fair, when I ordered all the parts for my last computer build shipping was 10 dollars and thats including a full tower case and a 24" LCD

i just built a water cooled 920 w/ 120gig ssd, i got the entire build from microcenter; it's mint! i priced the same build at microcenter and newegg and mc + tax was the same price as ne + shipping.

Newegg stopped charging tax to NY in 2008.. too many complaints
I built my mom a rig in mid 2009, no tax
