$455,000+++ 1958 Ferrari BEATER?!?
Check this out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBay...&item=575501278
Can anyone explain how this bidding got so out of hand, and why the reserve hasn't been met yet? Any wagers on what the reserve is?

You know what else struck me as funny? Check out the seller's other items he's (she's?) sold. it's like coffee machines and toys. Weird. Now he goes out the the shed and pulls out a 3/4 million dollar car?!?

Wow! If you look on links for his other auctions, you will see a link to pics of the Berlinetta Lusso. My father owned EXACTLY the same car once upon a time. '64 and in silver, too. Funny because he lived in NJ at the time... I wish that baby was in HIS garage right now and not rotting away in an cement cave.
I have to laugh that anyone would call this car a beater.
Heck, I don't even need to know what it is, but when I read that a 1958 Ferrarri is unrestored and has 1600 miles on it, I automatically start thinking very and I mean very high prices.
Thanks Giampiero for the stats on the car. My initial gut feel for the value of the car was $750K-$1000K. Although once this car gets cleaned up and placed at the right auction the bidding could get out of hand and go much higher.
The "lost" Lightweight E-type that surfaced two years ago in original condition went for $800-900k.
That would be the best wet-dream you could have when you find something like that.
