$455,000+++ 1958 Ferrari BEATER?!?
But after all these years, don't you think that the paint would have dulled and the interior would need restoration? I mean we're talking 40+ years of dust and exposure to the elements.
Still, gorgeous car, indeed.

It would not be incorrect to have to replace wear and tear items during a full restoration.
This would go to the mod or no mod debate. Because this car is in original condition the price will be much higher than if the car had various mods on the car, imho.

yeah...could be a hoax....altho i know of a gp bugatti,a ferrari 275 gts, a t57 bug drophead and various '50s lancias sitting in a garage in similar condition 30 min from my house....not for sale but the 69 year old owner has no family...who knows?the problem with "barn finds" these days is the cost of restoration vs the current value of a restored example.maybe the 250 is worth 1 mil in restored condition[maybe low].....it may cost as much as 450k to restore at a top establishment[perhaps high..but not for certain shops..]..plus a couple of years wait[that's a sure thing]....do the math....the only cars i'm seeing getting top prices unrestored and then getting high level restorations are cars that are unique examples with well documented and significant histories...in other words,cars with nothing to compare to for a price range.if you wanted a comp swb ferrari you can "shop around"and perhaps find several to choose from....if you want the swb that moss raced for rob walker you pay whatever price is asked,in any condition, and spend as much as needed for restoration.if i had the $$$$ and wanted a calif spyder i'd buy a restored one and drive it home tomorrow.
LOL!!!i'm sure that in 2045 a couple yards of "thin,cheap" honda factory s2000 carpeting will be worth a fortune!![think of all those rick's leather console covers out there!]
i've never driven a calif spyder but did spend some time in a TDF...faast!but pretty light and twitchy...drove a friends early 166 touring superleggera coupe....it's actually more like driving a small closed pre-war bugatti....not very refined in the handling dept, but a wonderful engine..and TOTALLY italian!

as an addendum to the previous post...last thurs the bugatti grand prix car i mentioned sold locally for $550,000.00 cash..US dollars...disassembled and 90%complete....will need a $250,000.00 restoration...miracles do happen!!!
