GOLDENDALE, Wash. - A Vancouver, Wash., motorcyclist was clocked doing an incredible 152 mph when he blew past a state trooper on a winding, two-lane highway near the Oregon border. The trooper said he was working a stretch of Highway 14 near Maryhill on Sunday afternoon when he spotted the motorcyclist barreling toward him at high speed in the opposite lane.
This guy came through my town on his ride and he picked a damn good route! It's one of my favorites to get in some twisties, dinner, then head back home.

^ I was fairly amazed at the amount of discretion that it seems the officer had in this situation as well. I have a theory though that the guy's life was actually more difficult than just a fine after it ground through the gears of the system; I don't have any proof, I just think the cop might have let the guy ride off with a ticket and more punishment looming from the paperwork generated.
^ It does get worse too, you could have some loon running at you with a gun pulled out who just happens to be a cop out of uniform:

And on another note, generally cops let motorcyclists go with out any paperwork under all but the most extreme scenarios, and I do mean extreme. I know one guy who got "pulled over" doing 180 on a bike but the cop let him go because he acknowledged the only way he ever caught up to him was because the bike made no attempt at escape - it still took the cop minutes to close the gap once the biker decided to pull over. Another case is my (insane) neighbor who had a cop following behind him for 1/4 mile down the freeway while he was standing on his seat using a throttle lock; the cop took the throttle lock and let him go home.
There is a magical point where you have pushed the thing so far the cop is going to laugh, wish he could also get away with it, and ponder letting you do the same. Or at least he feels really bad about having to throw your ass in prison so he thinks twice about it.

piece of advice for those who do have bikes... if you're going 130+ and you see the cop get you, pull over.
friend of a friend decided to just go, figuring the cop wouldn't catch up. helicopter was on him in a few minutes and he ended up with a felony on his record and 30 days in jail.
not worth it.

^ Damn, that's fleeing & eluding in MD. Only 30 days? I would have thought he'd get 6 mo. minimum. He's damn lucky. There seem to be a lot of bikers so brazen they think cops won't catch them that they just act like asswipes every time they get on a bike.

I Minnesota, any ticket that shows over 100 mph is a revocation of your liscense for six months.
I generally drive 60-65, but if you go through a couple gear with my SC when you really want to pass somebody on your nerves it gets degerously close to six months of tennis shoes and bus rides real fast.

He'd be in jail in CT.. I've been threatened with arrest for doing over 85 (written up as 85, just under reckless). I don't see 152 as being incredible though since I know for a fact my S will hit that
