friend of a friend decided to just go, figuring the cop wouldn't catch up. helicopter was on him in a few minutes and he ended up with a felony on his record and 30 days in jail.
We don't have ghetto birds round these parts except for life-flight and the news.

Ya seems the biker got lucky, triple digits is almost always grounds for license suspension, jail time and whatever else they want to tack on.
My neighbor's friend has gone to prison for running from our local cops on a bike; no helicopter, they just used their vehicles to knock his bike to the ground once the chase was on.

I don't see 152 as being incredible though since I know for a fact my S will hit that
It's not like the guy was busted on a freeway, we are talking little 2 lane road with cliffs and trees all around it.

^ It does get worse too, you could have some loon running at you with a gun pulled out who just happens to be a cop out of uniform:

And on another note, generally cops let motorcyclists go with out any paperwork under all but the most extreme scenarios, and I do mean extreme. I know one guy who got "pulled over" doing 180 on a bike but the cop let him go because he acknowledged the only way he ever caught up to him was because the bike made no attempt at escape - it still took the cop minutes to close the gap once the biker decided to pull over. Another case is my (insane) neighbor who had a cop following behind him for 1/4 mile down the freeway while he was standing on his seat using a throttle lock; the cop took the throttle lock and let him go home.

There is a magical point where you have pushed the thing so far the cop is going to laugh, wish he could also get away with it, and ponder letting you do the same. Or at least he feels really bad about having to throw your ass in prison so he thinks twice about it.
I had this happen to me, I was doing 80 in a 45, trying to make a test and he followed me to the off-ramp where I came to a light and got out with his gun at his side in his hand, screaming loads of bullshit and cursing.

He "let" me go and I say let because I think he was from philadelphia, and we were in Camden. It may have been that it was illegal for him to pull me over and he just wanted to scare the shit out of me. He was driving some civilian SUV and didn't call for backup.

^ I wish there was more understanding that a motorcycle (and an S for that mater) can drop 40mph almost instantly. When a cop is pulling you over and tailgating your ass slamming on the brakes and having them eat some bumper would be a highly effective demonstration of the principle but alas, no one would understand why.

when you really want to pass somebody on your nerves it gets degerously close to six months of tennis shoes and bus rides real fast.
That's on my mind every time I go to pass people too, especially if the ****wad decides to accelerate too, you can be going well over 80 once you get past them.

Hwy 14 is a great road - and out in that area, there is not much.

Hey T - we miss you in the crew - you should come out for our Nov. D&D.

Only way you;'re gonna evade a cop is if you run, take the offramp, park, and hide...and hope like hell they didnt catch a plate.

My friend did this - he ran, parked his bike in a dirt road, slept there til the morning...and got away. :B

I have heard of some cops running heat-scanners though.
