Default 2002 BMW 330ci

Does anyone have any info on the new 2002 BMW 330ci's??

I heard there is a facelift for this upcoming year including a return of the 2000 steering, more standard features, etc....

There are a few more standard features, go to my E46 M3 FAQ and check out the pdf for the 2002 model year.

The new headlight facelift only affects the sedan/touring.

Ah, so they really are laying the foundation for the '4' series!?! The first step is to differentiate the 3 Coup. Eventually the 3 Coup will evolve into the '4'. Man I hope BMW knows what they are doing... If you've seen the new 7 or 5 series you might have doubts.

No 4 series planned, only the new 6, 1 and the new Mini is slated for release in the near future.

Personally I don't like the new styling of the 6/7/9/Z3/X-coupe. I'll just take my M3 when it's ready and keep that for a long long time.

I'm looking at ordering a 330Ci in the near future and I was wondering if there is any price increase planned for the 2002 MY.
Also what is the typical time it takes after ordering a BMW for it to arrive( I plan to do the Performance Center Delivery since it is close by and would be a fun experience) .
Thanks.

Price, unsure... Timing, depends on an available allocation.

You are looking at about 4weeks from the build week to get it (maybe 5weeks if you're on the west coast). Closest you can alter an allocation is about 2-3 weeks from a build date (depending if the factory is ahead/behind schedule, status 112 is pushing it, status 150 and it's already in production). So soonest you could get one is anywhere from 1.5-2months from specing it out.

Here's another 4-series comment, along with a photo of the facelifted 3-series: http://www.geocities.com/busybeetoys/scoop/edn-35.htm

The text:
"Facelifted to fight its newest rival, the Jaguar X Type, the BMW 3-series gets reshaped headlights, a wider kidney grill, small foglights, and revised red/white rear lights. A faster steering rack and stiffer suspension addresses European customers' criticisms of the E46 being too "soft" to suit American tastes. A new option is the SSG sequential transmission based on the new M3's SMGII system. The coupe does NOT receive the facelift, as it is being prepared to be spun off to become a 4-series model instead in the near future."

So the 2002 330ci will not get the SMG from the M3??? Then there are no significant changes for 3 series coupes for 2002?

Any speculation when the 330 coupe will be developed into a 4 series?

Should I wait for the 4 series?
