The big plot hole is that if you are Morris and you see them just shoot this chick right in front of you, and they drill into your shoulder, its a pretty good bet you are a dead man when they are done with you. You also know that CTU has set off the fire alarm and is waiting outside. But you still write this computer program to arm the nukes lickety split. You don't stall. You don't hide some sort of virus in the program to make the little trigger dohicky unusable, and yet we are supposed to believe he is a computer genius. sure.
you're expecting a person under those circumstances to think rationally. c'mon. despite his being a computer genius and an employee of CTU, he is first and foremost a human being and will react to extreme stress situations like a human being. heck, if you were in his situation, you would most likely give in just like morris, if not sooner than morris.

I disagree. If someone says to me "Do us this favor and then we kill you" and you know the cavalry is coming, I'd stall. Its obvious these guys don't know how to make the dohicky work. So if I am Capt. Computer, I would come up with something that makes the lights flash and the bells go off but does nothing. And I would not do it too quickly because that would bring the bullet that much closer to my noodle.

Keep in mind, these flaws are not making me skip the show. Its just like soap opera bad writing, but in a show where people get knee caps blown off and drill bits put into flesh. How can you argue with that?
no you wouldn't. it's the torture that morris feared, and not death itself. i'm sure most people would opt for death than torture. besides, in desperate situations like that you hope for miracles even if you were able to analyze the situation rationally and come to the conclusion that you will most likely be killed after you perform the task they demand. also, fayed specifically spelled out to morris that even if morris refuses to reprogram the detonator, he will eventually find someone else to do it, and it's really a matter of how much more torture morris is willing to endure before he dies from shock and/or blood loss. we, as people who have never been physically tortured, can criticize all we want for how morris was stupid and a coward for caving in and giving the terrorists what they wanted, but reality is that if we were put in the same situation, 90%, if not more, of us would cave in just like morris.

He just folds under any type of pressure. I am ready for him to get knocked off so the Veep can take over. They want the prisoners realesed? OK. They want us to hand over JB so they can kill him? Sure.

Now my favorite part of the show is pointing out GIANT plot holes that the writers need to move the show along. I won't even mention the fact that thre bad guy got away after being COMPLETELY surrounded. How many times has a bad guy escaped on this show because they were unaware of a sewer tunnel? I think I have seen that ten times by now. You would think they could figure that out by now. Oh sorry......

I must say the Bauers are a murdering bunch! Graem has the president killed, Dad kills Graem, and Jack kill just about everybody else.....

FWIW, I'll give them the sewer escape, but I don't know how they couldn't track a helicopter! They can track a car amongst thousands on the roads, but they can't track one helicopter out of .... how many can be in the skies at one time?

Ummmm..... Ya think the comments are tongue in cheek or serious?

Of course the show has plot holes, and it has nothing to do with writers getting messed up. You gotta have em or you can't have a cliff hanger every week. You could make a great drinking game out of taking a shot every time something totally impossible or completely unrealistic happens on that show.

Practically every week an "asault team" has a house surrounded, and every week somebody escapes. The writers are not messed up, they have to have somebody get away or they have no show. Its fine if you want to allow the sewer escape, but I think the scene before that determined they were on the fourth or the sixth floor. Unless he went toilet diving down a four inch pipe, he had to get passed several people to get to a sewer. If you have swat coming in the front door and windows of an apartment, how do you get into the sewer? And a sewer escape happens at least once a season.

When the guy came to Jack and said they just tracked a helicopter taking off a couple blocks away I burst out laughing.

you need to pay better attention to the show. fayed fled into the ventilation ducts which led its way down onto the ground floor for him to access the sewer system.

I would have liked to see a agent guarding the sewer get killed and that's how Fayed got by. I can see it now.....

Sewer agent on walkie:"Awwwm man, why am I stuck down here while you guys get all the fun!"

Other agent: "Stay sharp, we're busting in now"

Sewer agent: "roger, but I gotta tell you this assignment is the shi....."

Throat cut by Fayed
