Am I the only one who thinks that the family that was being held hostage by Ahmed is the biggest bunch of idiots ever?
-When Ahmed tells the father to go drop off the package, he goes without hesitation. I would have stalled as long as possible by saying I don't know where the location is. I would have then tried to look it up on google maps while trying to get some help through the internet
-When Scott went to get the medicine out of the kitchen, he could have probably picked up the phone and dialed 911 and kept the phone on hook.
-When Ahmed was getting ready to execute Scott, the guy just knelt down obediently. Especially since the guy was injured, I would have tried to grab his gun and kill him before he got a chance to kill me.

first of all, you should have a spoiler warning cuz the episodes have not been officially aired and many folks have not seen it yet. but to answer you questions:
1) the dad knew ahmed was serious and was in total fear of his family getting harmed and that is why he obliged so willingly. i actually give him credit for having the nads to kill a guy and negotiate with ahmed to release at least 1 of his family members, not to mention he did eventually, though reluctantly, go across to street to defend ahmed in the beginning when ahmed was about to get his a$$ kicked by some redneck neighbor.
2) ahmed had the son in his view and so the son wasn't able to really do much without ahmed catching him. besides, it's possible there were no phones in the vincinity of the cabinet where the medicine was.
3) in a situation like that, most people do not and cannot think logically. when a gun is pointed at you, most would oblige to whatever the person holding the gun demands without thinking. not everyone is jack bauer, you know...
