Yes but, despite all their other front-drive cars, Chrysler chose rear-drive for the Viper. Try to imagine the Viper V-10 engine in a front-drive car!
I have to laugh when I see the NASCAR equivalents of the Taurus. Monte Carlo, and now the Intrepid. The front drives have mysteriously migrated rearward!

I don't have much requirements for a beater.
But it would be nice if the car is comfy, cheap, good looking and fun to drive.
I don't know how much power the I4 version will have, but it sure looks good.
For 15k, it would be a nice beater.
