Ford dropped their appeals case. Kudos to the EFF and 2600 for sticking up for their free speech out there!

This is a nice win, but really a hollow victory. I mean, what are the merits of Ford claiming anything with regards to a domain with the name of their biggest competitor in it? What would be really nice is if 2600 could get at least some type of minor victory in the DECSS case. That case bothers me so much more than this one.

Back when I was employed, I even spent a helluva lot of time reading all the depositions of the DeCSS case. I kept up to date as much as I could and even have the shirt too. (such a geek I am) The DeCSS case is very important, its something I hope no one gives up on. Otherwise, the typical person in the states would just say "ooh that's how it is" and live with it because its hollywood and its not worth fighting for. yet, they are talking about simple freedoms. JV is just wrong.. wrong.. wrong.. If only the RIAA & MPAA could fail like other corporations. *shakes head*
