I went almost three months without driving when I was in a drum and bugle corps one summer, but when I got back I had no problems. It wasn't close to three years, but it was quite a while. I think you'll be fine. Maybe it will be an excuse to go to a racing school when you get back.

Mingster, do you have mad crazy driving skills now?

If you're not on the razor's edge of driving skill, I can't imagine that it would matter.

If you're concerned, take a racing school vacation yearly.

I have felt afraid driving the s2k on vacation and whatnot; I drove 143 miles to Virginia for vacation to Kings Dominion and it was fine. Virginian drivers are crazy! I had someone be bitch the whole way so i'm not complaining, Virginian cops are ****** asses, glad I didn't get a ticket. I guess it depends on how long you've driven for and where you have spent most of your time driving

Rich, I say this with the greatest respect for you. I think there is little chance of anything dulling your sences. You're never had any sence in the 10 or so years I've known you.

All kidding aside, I can go for months without driving on the track or even just instructing from the right seat. It doesn't take me more than a lap or two to get comfortable again. In fact when I was racing I would go 6 months sometimes between races and it wasn't a problem. You'll pick it up quickly when you come back. I wouldn't worry.

Is this an e-bragging thread in disguise?

You know how it's going to affect you. The same as any other skill you've learned, but have been away from for awhile.

Once you reach a certain point, the amount of time away from an activity doesn't matter as much. Whether it's been 6 months or 16 years, you're not going to have major problems other than rust and inefficiency.

On the bright side, that's pretty awesome to have a free chauffeur.

He has the sense to spell "sense" correctly. Probably "you've", as well.
