30 Days of McDonald's... Dayyyyyyyyum...
whoareyoupeople? is there anyone who has posted pertaining to the acutual content of what this man, Morgan Spurlock, was truely trying to do? he's pointing out how dependent and unhealthy the lifestlyes of most americans are upon/from convenience and manufactured taste, while at the same time they take no consideration of the consequences of their choices.
sure you eat at mcD's. why? have you checked out what nutritional value their food holds? nope, if you were paying any attention at all you were counting calories and sugars and fat -and that's a good start. but remember, you eat for your body, your body needs nutritional foods. remember the food pyramid? it's important! vitamins- the kind you got from the vegetables that your mother would make you eat at the dinner table when you were younger. you need those! lettuce does not count, don't try such a week ruse. lettuce is the popped corn of vegetables, it's a filler with so little in it that it doesn't even keep you from being hungry for any sufficient time after you've eaten it, it's light and refreshing, and can be dressed up to be a meal or a healthy alternative to gorging yourselves on fries. i have nothing against salads- in fact i like them, but don't defend what mcD's has provided for their healthy alternative to gorging yourselves on their fries. no one goes to mcD's for a salad.
and yes, he, Morgan Spurlock, meant to go over the top, he ate a lot of the same items off the menu, but he ate the most heavily advertised and well known menu items, he was proving a point! he had liver complications from the food, he gained nearly five pounds a day, a pregnant woman doesn't gain so fast in the first (or any, to my knowledge) thirty days... it's unhealthy. and none of that would happen if you were to eat spagetti for 12 nights in a row. his health was affected, he craved sugar and fat between meals. people who feel good after eating mcD's are being affected by the sugar high they're on, by the fat that's building up and slowly planning it's attack on your heart.
don't tell me you only see healthy young kids in line at mcD's. i will never believe that. the reality isn't like their commercials, there aren't active kids breakdancing with their bigmacs out front. have you ever seen an obese child reaching grease sheened fingers into a happy meal bag? ever noticed how obese you are? you lick that sheen with the white grains of salt off your fingers and send your children into the plastic play pits that mcD's has created for them. the same plastic play pits that are coming to replace actual play places for your children, you know, the ones in parks- the outside kind where your children can swing, where they can get a natural high, not a sugar high.
i don't take to the defense of mcD's well. i'll let you know how i feel- let me know what you think.
Taco Bell is only better in that it hasn't monopolized, like mcD's has done other genres of food, Chipotles (mexican) and Panda Express (chinese) are owned by mcD's. but i'm not going to say that taco bell is less unhealthy for you.

If all this interests you guys...read Fast Food Nation. Its a book about the fast food industry, slaughterhouses, french fry guns, and baby boomers novel ideas. Be warned, you will not eat fast food by the time you have finished it (neither will you if any of you have read Upton Sinclair's The Jungle - meatpacking in chicago, need I say more).
Fast food is disgusting but I will eat it on the occasional road trip. Lemme just say that I feel much more comfortable eating Wendy's than I do McDonalds...but I only eat the grilled chicken sandwich w/o the bun.
