I've only drank the 5hr energy a couple of times, and it seemed to keep me alert for a few hours. And like others said, you don't really crash like you would with a soda.

However, I had a buddy that actually had an allergic reaction to one because of the high dose of something that was in it (I think it was the Niacin). So, if you have any allergies like that, I'd use caution.

I like them. Work great and no crash. Not so much the energy replenished feeling, but it helps on being able to focus for sure.

When I drove cross-country with my brother, we got a few because we were pulling 16-19 hour days. I'm not a fan of energy drinks 'cause they taste like ass. But these were more bearable because, like primo said, it's just like one shot and you're done.

It kept me TOO awake. I started to get kind of freaked out because my mind was going a million miles an hour, but there was nothing to stimulate it buy 100's of miles of road ahead of me.

This is where cigarettes come in handy. One should adhere to a strict drug regimen to keep one's mind limber.

Amphetamines work too. An attack by enraged monkeys will also perk you right up. I've never seen anyone nod off with a troupe of screaming Macaques descending on them.
where can I get a couple of these primates?

this ..

what a 5hr energy is really doing is trying very very hard to replace a meal. you know, food. if you eat healthy, especially every few hours and in moderate (not excessive) amounts... you won't get 'crashes' and you won't be tired randomly in the middle of the day, or a drive.
