5 hr energy shot
#32
I have a job where the busy time at work culminates with about a 200 hour pay period in the last two weeks. That includes lots of 16 hour days and usually a few 24 hour work days thrown in in the middle of that last two weeks. A coworker swears by the 5 hour energy shots and uses them, about a two to three a day. He claims that they work great fopr him but whenever he uses them there is sort of a "hangover feeling" when he discontinues use.
I rely on diet coke. This guy tells me not to mix 5 hour energy with diet coke or you get jittery. Since I have a firdge full at work I just stick to coke.
Probably about 6-8 a day during those final two weeks. My last day of the busy period this year I went to work at 9 am on a Sunday and got home at 1 pm on Monday afternoon. Five hour energy or not, you really can't get back onto a regular cycle of sleep for about a week after stuff like that.

Doesnt work with me, just gets my HR up way too high. Plus, it's all bull anyways. I can carb load with 25g's of carbs pre-workout and still have more energy than that provides.
But just to get back on topic, 5hr energy works good. You could also try a red eye or green eye at your local starbucks.

don't take it if u gotta do any work involving long term sitting (such as driving)..
the caffeine will just sit there in ur system waiting for the blood to pump.. once u get ur body finally moving (after u drive), a huge wave of caffeine will just start pumping into ur system. this is how people can trip out / break sweats / have super fast heart beat but a hard time breathing / heart attack / pass out / hands, face, legs start to get white and feel cold. dont take it unless ur gonna be physically active.
small cup of coffee (no sugar), bananas, lots of cold water, and low fat foods (subway is very nutritious with the green onions, onions, and tomatos.. etc) will keep u awake healthy (with less risks of being ill), and returning to ur sober state will feel more natural. eating too heavy will get u a food high and turn into a big downer (chipotle is bomb but they use alot of butter and salt... this can give u a really crappy feeling after maybe 2 hours ur done with the food since ur still lack of sleep). the 5 hr energy will give u a crash no matter what it states. if u notice, there is no definite definition for what a crash is, it's something u can't measure but only feel.
dont' attempt to counter the caffeine high with a downer.... it's a bad idea.
