Gotta say I pretty much agree 100%. Though i doubt nuking the entire country is necassary. Hitting one or two major cities should scare the entire middle east into backing off for a long long time. Much like hiroshima and nagasaki. Then again in this case we are not fighting against a country, but rather a terrorist group situated in a country, and it may in this case be necassary to level the entire land.

But yea I hate this pussy bullshit holding back. We went in and we should have finished the job the next day. I am and was for the war, but i absolutely hate the occupation, as i did from day 1. Our soldiers over there are nothing more then social workers now. Social workers that are getting shot at and killed on a daily basis. Pretty soon they won't even be allowed to shoot back the way things are going.

 

...i dont think i would rush the terrorists...more captured soldiers/civilians have been let go than have been killed...

if i knew for sure they were going to behead me then hell yea id rather get shot trying to escape...

but remember the guy who escaped a month or so back? its all about timing...in a situation like that waiting could be their only chance to live...

I agree. At this point, I think we just need to pull up our bootstraps and start kicking some ass again. The unfortunate truth is that the jihadist culture cares not for modern/civilized conventions of war. Therefore, we need to adjust to our newest enemy and react in a similar fashion - swiftly and mercilessly. Kill them all. If it means leveling a few hideouts, or even a city block, then do it.

Waffling to terrorist demands only encourages them to act more boldly (thank you Manilla). We need to act with an incredible display of firepower, resolve, and rage to discourage terrorist assholes from abducting and murdering civilians (the same people working to rebuild the country that Saddam had destroyed).

In my opinion, those who even mutter the word "jihad" should be hunted down and eliminated. This should be our policy, and we should be very vocal about it. Rather than making examples of a few soldiers who (god forbid) made a few prisoners "uncomfortable" (seriously, there's a difference between torture and basic humiliation - I've seen fraternity hazing harsher than the so-called "torture" in Abu Gharib (sp?)), we should make examples of terrorist assholes by impailing the bodies of their children on a pike at the gates of Baghdad.

Again, this is all just my opinion.

once we start acting all "hard" over there, what stops it from comming here? next time someone so much as suggests that you commited a crime (in some states speeding over a certain amount is a felony) do you want to police to beat/sick dogs on/murder you?

It won't come here because we are not jihadist animals. I have no problem with the torture and humiliation they imposed on those bastards. They weren't innocent Iraqi's that we were abusing, rather hard line terrorist and those who sid with the jihadist ideology. And you know what? If you're in prison, you're a CRIMINAL....criminal's should not be treated as if they are in a country club.

Once you're a criminal, ALL rights should be removed. I know this may sound extreme, but I would have no problem eliminating the death penalty and imposing some sort of human experimentation. INstead of testing drugs on innocent monkeys and extrapolating the effects on humans, why not test on "death row" humans for 100% efficacy. At least we'll get some worth out of these useless inmates. But anywhooo let's save that for another thread ....

Back to treating criminals like animals and abusing them.... It'll make you think twice about committing a crime.

No offense....but you guys are fo<ked up! Read what you wrote and tell me how you are not the same as those committing these acts!

 

I guess you forget that many people have been cleared form death row with new evidence, and everday people are let out of jail after they were imprisoned under false charges.

if you could know 100% that people are guilty and rehabiliation is impossible (yes i know statistically it is unlikely for most violent crimes) then maybe more extreme measures could be put in place...

also that you stated they were all criminals yet they never had a trial, they never had any informal or formal charges filed against them...and daily we release people from those prisons and guantanamo bay saying they never commited any crime.
