Default 6 speed RXS???

Do you guys know why acura put a 6 speed gearbox on the Type-s? they can't even redline in 5th. gear?? They reach 133mph on 5th. Are they just making the type-s looks more like a stook???

Well there are places where you can drive at the limit for quiet a while. It would get really irritating to do that at >7K rpms.

5th gear in a five speed and 5th gear in a six speed are not the same gear ratio. Both RSX's are going to have similiar final gear ratios, but the six speed will have its gears closer together, maintaining a more narrow rpm range between shifts.

Probably acts as an overdrive gear or something ... I'm not interested in finding out more about that car.

Maybe to compete with the Celica, maybe it's a cool selling feature, the truth, I dunno!
