One of my buddies in college used to "compete" with people.. they make "professional" rubiks. Or maybe theyre just custom. He was able to solve it in about 55 secs. I think he told me the world record was like 15-20 secs. They do grease those things up so they can really fling those things around.

when 'normal' people solve the cube, they use the layer method - top to bottom. For competition solving, there is an uber sequence which basically solves the entire cube using 1 sequence. I think the uber sequence is like a 65 step move and no matter which state the cube is in, it will be solved. The layer method is about 20-30 moves for the 1st 2 layers and like 40 moves for the last layer. But w/the layer method, you're just repeating the same sequence 4-5 times so you have to memorize fewer steps. Uber method is just 1 really long move that confuses a lot of normal people. I know the 1st 13 steps to the uber move but then my brain just goes to mush after that

I've seen that too.... but I'm most guilty of breaking it apart and snapping in all the pieces back together.

They told me not to mess with its...
So, you know what I did...
I played and I couldnt get it back right...
So I pealed the stickers off and put it back...
I didnt hear the end of that for a while...
