9-11-01 (911) Where were you today?
Where were you when you heard the events unfold today? This day will be etched in our minds much like January 28, 1986 when the space shuttle Challenger exploded on liftoff. I was 29 years old then working as a construction foreman at a Marriott Hotel in Atlanta. I'll never forget that day. Today's tragedy overshadows that day a hundredfold.
i was in the car on the way to a doctor appointment. i was listening to a local radio station, known for its pranks, and i thought it was a joke. so i tuned into the a.m. radio station for the news and they were broadcasting it as well. driving from the doctor's office and listening to this all was so surreal. like something out of a movie or science fiction novel. and when i think of all those innocent people, my heart just aches. i am absolutely heartbroken, for this country and for the people killed. this is definitely a day i will remember for the rest of my life. this has impacted me more than the challenger 7. i was only 16 at the time. now at 32 years of age, i definitely place more value on life in general. never take anything for granted............
before heading to work I came where else??? Here. It was early but there was already a thread on the WTC crashes. I turned on the news just before the second plane hit. I've no words for this. I just don't understand.

I just got to work and booted the computer and saw the headline on the Chicago Tribune's website - I thought it was funny that I couldn't get on CNN.com at first. Then my phone stated ringing about it too.
Challenger - I was in Biology class Freshman year of high-school.

Started off normally.. woke up for school and jumped in the shower. Got out of the shower to see my mom in front of the TV screen gazing at it... I asked her whatsup and she said that a plane has crashed into one of the WTC buildings... moments later the second one hit... horrible...

I was in the gym riding a Lifecycle, watching the first tower fire, wondering what was going on. Then I saw the second plane crash into the second tower and I immediately knew it was terrorists.
I was also in the gym riding a Lifecycle when I saw the Challenger explosion.
I'm older than a lot of you guys. I was in the library studying my college freshmen year when I heard that JFK was assassinated.
