My friend got a ticket for a 93 in a 55 on 495 DC beltway by a MD state cop. He is a PA resident, do the points transfer to PA? The ticket is for only $270. Should he pay it and move on?

My son has gotten two speeding tickets recently.

Two weeks ago we picked up a new Civic to replace our old one which was totaled. On the way home from the dealership I went off to gas up the roadster. Getting back on the freeway I was moving pretty hot through the cloverleaf, then into the access lane before merging onto the freeway proper; I was going about 70, 10:30 at night, top down, and I figured I'd take it easy: long day and what-have-you.

As I merged onto the freeway I noticed the headlights of two motorcycles a couple of hundred yards behind me. I kept it at 70 and in a few moments two motorcycle cops passed me, then a third. Another mile up the freeway they were joined by a fourth.

If you aren't smart enough or lucky enough to speed only where there aren't any cops, then don't speed.

I got a speeding ticket in New Jersey back in the late 70s and it got to my California DMV record. Go figure.,
