What's the comparison between the 996 Carrera 2 and the new M3? Performance wise between the two, how do they compare? Which one would you pick, and y?

Definitely the P-car, even having never driven the new M3. It's several hundred pounds lighter than the BMW - only about 100lbs more than our stooks, in fact.

I can't imagine the M3 being anywhere near as fun to drive as the 911.

Hmm, interesting. I've spent a lot of time in an AS/MB/MB Boxster S, which has nearly the same interior as the 996, and I've never noticed anything wrong with the build quality. However there's one part that does look a bit cheap, and that's some plastic pieces here and there - they just look out of place, compared to the rich carpet and leather and such. This Boxster also has red stiching in the leather, which gives it a wonderful accent to the metropol blue. I was initially afraid that the red/silver/blue scheme would look a bit corny, but I was quite impressed once I saw it in person.

In any cas, even if the Bimmer had the most incredible interior ever known to humanity, something to start legacies greater than a Duzenburg, I still wouldn't rank it higher then the 911 on my list.
