I'm not a lawyer nor have I ever needed the services of one, but what does "LLC" or "LLP" stand for?

Close, but LLC is Limited Liability Corporation. I know because that is what our company is.

oh, I thought that it had something more to do specifically with lawyers. What is the purpose of putting those acronyms after the name of the company?

Its an indicator similar to say Mindcore INC. where as I incorporated my name, as a business, that runs independant of myself.

Without getting into too much detail, the primary differences between an LLC, LLP, and a Corporation (Inc.) relate to liability and tax issues. . .
