Anyone have any success finding their birth parents???
besides those advertised agencies, how can you go about it????
i'm trying to help my dad find his parents and all he knows is the name of the military base he was supposedly born on. His adopted parents have passed and there was no paperwork to be found when all was said and done.
I do know that there was a new birth certificate issued the year he was adopted, which means since he was adopted at 2years of age, he is technically two years older than he really shows on paperwork. anyone know whats up with that???? this was in North Carolina and he was shown to have been born Nov. 1954/1952, so any old timers who might know some sort of rules/document change laws feel free.
thanks

for adoptions that far back most of the records are sealed (at least in Pa) you need a lawyer to file the proper paperwork for your state to get those records released. They DID NOT have open adoptions back then. Most of them were under the table or on the DL usually because of the circumstances of the birth. There are plenty of support groups and such online. They may help they may not. I was born in the philadelphia naval hospital (now a parking lot) in 1977 at birth. I have not found my birth parents yet. If I can help anymore please let me know

Good luck

Are you sure they changed the year of birth? They may have issued a new BC with other information altered, but typically birth date is kept.

You would too if you found out I killed the cat, enslaving the other children using mind control, and making sweet hate to the family's Alpacas. . .

Not to put a damper on things, but that's a lot of work to find 2 people that are most likely dead. Whats to gain? He had two parents, they passed on.....? Whats he looking for?

Kidding aside, I'm not adopted. However, a few of my friends are, and what I've seen can only be attributed to a very strong psychological "pull" that pragmatic thought, let along pragmatic thought of those of us who grew up with our birth parents, can't really rightly explain.

More power to him (sillyboybmxer). Even if he finds out they're dead, the journey was still taken.

If I was adopted, I'd like to know who my real daddy was/is.
