that's a lot of work to find 2 people that are most likely dead. Whats to gain? He had two parents, they passed on.....? Whats he looking for?
I'm adopted....

And you don't know the first damn thing about what it means to grow up without knowing your parents.... Dead or alive, it means more than you could ever possibly understand.

Best of luck to the OP in helping his father.

I whole heartedly agree.

I was adopted AT BIRTH! I have only ever known my adopted parents. Even with that, not a day goes by that I don't think the "what if" or even to catch a glimpse of what you may look like when your older. Do you look like your dad or your mom? Are there any brothers or sisters that you may have never met? These questions and more are thought about on an almost daily basis. Not that I dont love my parents. They are the best parents in the world. They have gone above and beyond what could be expected from them. But the thought is always back there.

Good luck OP, again, if I can help, let me know.

either way the comment you made was wrong to say.
i am not adopted but i have many friends that are..and you can tell everyday just by watching them (especially the girls) that they wonder about who there parents are, what they are gonna look like and such.

Are you sure they changed the year of birth? They may have issued a new BC with other information altered, but typically birth date is kept.
yeah i am sure they changed the year,......he says his birthday is 11-4-54 but the certificate is dated june of 1956(or 1958,..i cant remember right now if it was 2 or 4 years difference)

I remember my grandma telling my dad that the only information she had on his real parents was that "they are professional people"....whatever that means.

Does anyone know what the rules were of airbases at that time. For instance, do both parents have to be in the service to use the hospital on the base??? ?
I know there are some weird circumstances of that era. As if the adoption wasnt enough, we also found out that my grandma(dads adopted mom) was actually raised by her aunt(because her mom died during childbirth) so she grew up calling her aunt "mom" and she continued the lie even after finding out the truth. Not that it was her fault but when she found out when she was older, she could have at least told her son "grandma" is actually your "great aunt".

Sillyboybmxer, good luck finding the birth parents! There are sources online, whether or not they are any good remains to be seen, try a search for finding one's birth parents on Google. It might be worth a try, best wishes in your quest!
