Adventures in dating
Come on guys, I know you have some! OK, fine, I'll start:
Just before Christmas, I had a date to go see a show downtown. I was supposed to get there before him and get our seats (he had commitments earlier in the evening which would preclude his getting there early too), since this particular show fills to SRO very quickly. The show started at 9:45.
That afternoon, I had the home inspection for my new house. By the time I got out of that, it was 6:30 and I was exhausted and had developed a nasty headache. I stopped by a friend's house to snag some Tylenol and drag him out for dinner, intending to afterward go home, change clothes, and head downtown.
At my friend's house, he started pulling bottles of pain reliever out of the cabinet. I told him to just hand me the first one he pulled out, and having read "pain reliever" on the label (generic), I took it and we headed out to dinner.
Midway through our food, I was getting more tired and more tired, then my stomach became upset. On my third trip to refill my Mountain Dew, it dawned on me that if the Mt Dew wasn't doing the trick at all, something else must be wrong. I returned to the table and asked my friend, "that wouldn't have been Tylenol PM, would it?" The look of horror on his face was hysterical... indeed, in very small print, underneath "pain reliever," it said something about PM or sleep ingredients or something!
I couldn't even drive the half mile back to my friend's house. I tried to contact the mutual friend who had introduced me and my date to see if she could meet him there and go to the show with him, but she already had plans; so I crashed on his sofa for an hour, then dragged myself home to change clothes and go downtown. I got down there, waited a half hour, and then left a note for my date at the box office (he doesn't have a cell phone) and went home.
I know it seemed like a total crock when I had to try to explain to this poor guy that he had been stood up because I had been drugged, but thankfully, partially because I had asked our mutual friend to stand in for me at the time, I was forgiven. We've gone out a bit since then, and due to this experience, we try to coordinate a little better now...

LOL, gave me a good laugh!
Well mine was pretty embarassing too. I was on a second date with a girl and I had planned that we would go to a fancy restaurant and then go to a theater to watch a play (The Nutcracker) that she liked. I wasn't feeling good the whole day! I had a headache and my stomach was hurting me. But I really wanted to make hre happy so before dinner I slipped in a few tablets of Tylenol in my pocket with a small bottle of Pepto Bismol (ya never know). After ordering the food, my stomach was growling LOUD! I went to the bathroom and took some PB. BIG MISTAKE! I came back and started eating once the food arrived. Midway throught our conversation, I felt like throwing up, so I went back as fast as I could and threw up in an UNFLUSHED toilet bowl. yuk! Afterwards I cleaned my mouth filled with bad breath and asked my date if she wanted to eat some more. She said no, so we hit the theater and my headache was starting to come back and haunt me as we were waiting in line to come in. I took some pills and felt ever worse! My body was starting to heat up! ARGH! I told her I needed to get out of the theater and she asked me why. I told her that I wasn't feeling good and he said ok, with a unhappy voice. While we were walking back to my car I explained her why I wanted to go out of the theater and she was still unhappy. And then, it came, I threw up on the sidewalk! I told her to drive back to my place but she didn't know how to drive a manual! Damn, I called my friend and he drove us home. She slept at my place and laughed at what happened through our date(the throwing up part she didn't know). All in all, it was a very bad day.
