HOLY CRAP YOU'RE AWESOME!
I'm going back to the NY Times and will buy an online subscription to check back articles. I know there are lots of hotel and instances of the words lake view hotel in various places, but you got the right articles for sure.
I had no idea my grandmother and grandfather had the bodies exhumed! So they were actually my great grandfather's sisters, neither of them were my great grandmother. But there were suspicious circumstances surrounding their deaths. From what I've heard re-told by my mom, every time their brother would visit them in the hospital after their mysterious falls down the stairs, they'd get worse from a medical perspective and people were suspecting being poisoned.
I believe that the reason for the exhumation request. I'm going to look into this further, thank you for providing me some more leads! Unfortunately my grandmother Evelyn died 2.5 years ago and she and I never spoke of the hotel to eachother as it was a very sore subject. Ultimately she was in line to inherit the hotel as she was the child of Fred Zuck, until he died and all this crazy stuff happened. Evelyn and Charles (my grandparents) managed the hotel completely and had invested themselves and their kids (my mom and uncle) in the place, and lost everything from a financial perspective when it left the family. My grandfather became an extermely heavy drinked after the hotel changed hands and they were kicked out, but they nevertheless lived very fulfilling and successful lives. For my grandmother to live out her days in her own house, with hundreds of thousands in the bank, ownership of her house, and still making an income as the county Tax Assessor till the day she died, says something about her determination.
Anyway, now I'm just thinking out loud a bit as I try to put together these pieces, and it's probably not interesting to others.
Thank you again for all your help everyone, especially RUGBY!

If you follow the trail from the NY Times article, the Shustin's were involved with the Bon Aire Lodge and Lake View Hotel.
In the NJ.com article, Judith Shustin notes she has been on the lake for years and sold the Bon Aire Lodge in 1960 - - - perhaps you could contact her for some of the missing history your looking for? WhitePages.com has a telephone listing for her.
