Location has as much to do with insurance cost as age/car/record.
Same company and driver/car in one city will be different than another city.

After hearing these outrageous amounts, it really scared me! If I kept my accord, I could be saving almost 2,000. per year.

well, to enjoy the s2000, you more often than not will have to violate one traffic rule or another. are you suggesting we buy an s2000 and not enjoy it?? 

I can go on and on about the stupid things (usually) younger kids do in this car and could probably complie a list of poor excuses to why they crashed. Granted I am a kid myself (turning 20) but I've had my fair share of autoX's / track days to say I know my limits and never push them on the road. Why waste a perfectly good car / life...
