Default Air Canada Telephone Service Reps problem

Hello fellows,

I don't know what to do, and don't know how to deal with this. Being a life long Air Canada flyer, I was extremely mis-treated by a telephone operator today. Her extreme rudeness and ill-attempts to help me assist with my tickets made my day miserable. I called Aero Plan center today to confirm my ticket, and see if it is possible to move it a bit earlier to catch christmas in my home town, the operator was extremely rude by saying "I don't know what you are talking about" when all I said was if i can move my tickets to depart earlier. She said what date, - but knowing that there are black out periods, I asked her politely if she can tell me what dates are possible to move to. She refuses to do that and she DEMANDED a date. So I said ok, how about tomorrow, she said no, then I asked her how about wednesday, thrusday, friday etc... she said no no no, those are all black out dates until Jan7th. Being a little annoyed and knowing that shes playing me in a way, I asked for her name. "JEN" was all she said, and I asked her if i can talk to her supervisor, she refuses to do so and said "I cannot do this", she asked me if I wanted to talk to another agent, I said I want to talk to your supervisor, and than she just hang up.

What can I do?
I already mailed Air Canada a littler, and faxed a letter to them as well, but which department should it adderss to (Other than Customer Solutions)

Thank you so much,

A frustrated flyer who loves Honda

Arthur

Hell NO! A customer should never be treated like the way you were. I would extract at least a pound of flesh. Complain right to the top. You must be able to get this information on the internet if you search for Air Canada Corporate. This should tell you who the CEO is. I have of late been thoroughly dissillusioned with Air COMMUNIST. They are in trouble and ask for federal money. Then they start up Tango to compete with WestJet and STILL ask for bailout money. Now I've heard they're trying to start up yet another smaller regional airline while the whole time asking for more money. I hate this airline and it would be the last airline I would fly. I'll drive across Canada in my S2000 before I'd fly with them.

Go nuts on them...

Air Canada is going through "tough times" and they are trying to make sure customer service is maintained.

With that said most of the people know the jobs they have in 2001 are not likely going to be the ones they have or don't have at all in 2002. So not surprisingly they aren't the nicest folks in the world at times. Still it doesn't mean they need to treat you like crap. Complain like hell hath rained down on them. Since they are basically the only major Canadian player anymore in the airline business, they better know that you can easily take American Airlines or another carrier for anything but Canadian flights.

Sadly I can see the service from Air Canada getting worse instead of better, too bad I need to use them often.

Kinda seems like they take better care of the corporate customers than they do the people who really count on them for a holiday.

I used to fly Air Canada all the time and have never experienced a problem with changing my flight. Of course, I flew on a business ticket that was full fare. I can't believe that they treated you so badly. I hope she gave you her real name, which I doubt. I'd file a formal complaint with them.

Sounds like Jen was having a bad life (or at least bad day). Get over it.

Why not call back, talk to someone (who isn't Jen) and try again. If you get the same attitude and hassle from operator "B", then it might be an "institutional thing" at AC and would be worth pursuing.

As a "life long flyer", it sounds like your talking about more than one flight per year to grandma's. Gather up all your frequent flyer miles and use that as currency for why they shouldn't treat you like a jerk.

If that doesn't work, you could always fly Canadian, or Canada 3000!

Let us know what happens, as if they are really that bad, Canada doesn't need to be chasing an open skies treaty with the US. We already have our share of mediocre airlines!

American Airlines new motto: "We're not happy, until your not happy"
