Default For all the home audio experts
Well it deals with my surround sound on my comp. For some reason every now and then the rear speakers, while no music or sound playing, will start to make a loud static noise. Any idea what this could be?

Sounds like you are losing a ground wire.

Or your rear speaker plug (into the computer) might not be making a good connection. Try wiggling it and see if the noise pops up.
