If anyone is interested in spending some dough... Richmond BMW has TWO used M3's sitting on the lot. They're both Imola Red / black. One is a coupe, 3400 miles and $53,900. The other is a convertible, 2200 miles and $59,900. I have no idea if those are fair prices (compared to new) because I bet not enough have turned over yet to get a good idea.
If anyone is interested, I'll pass along the name of the sales consultant I spoke with. She seemed to be pretty much "on the level" with me. Oh, she also mentioned that they don't gouge on new M3's either and theres only about a half dozen people on the waiting list (with 1 to 2 coming in a month).
Now, if I only had an extra 30 grand laying around...

nwk00, sounds like the M3 CSL is up your alley then. Mucho carbon fiber, about 400lbs lighter... can lap Nurburgring 30secs FASTER than the stock M3, that is UNDER the 8minute barrier.

"Chrome Shadow", BMW's show paint.... rumored $20k to do. A coat of black paint with a coat of silver over it (well more complicated than that but you get the idea
)
And just look at what it's capable of, what a great color:
