Alright, Relationship Question
I'm 22, will be 23 in December, a friend of a friend supposedly likes me, but she is only 17, will be 18 in September. She's going into college this fall, while I just graduated last month. I'm kinda on the fence about how I should approach this, anyone got any advice on dating younger girls at this point of my life? The way I see it, 5 years difference is not a big deal if I was 30 and she's 25, but she's not even legal now, and we are at different points of our lives. Let me know what you guys think, any advice or experiences is appreciated.
thanks

Don't play 'til the grass matures.
But anyway, IMO, she's too young. It depends on the girls, but most young girls are annoying as shit. These days, I prefer a mature adult to converse with, have fun with, and be like adults. 5-year difference is nothing at all, but you're wrong in comparing to the 30/25 couple. When a girl is 17, she's still a little kid; when she gets to be 25, she's a mature adult, probably. It's not correct to compare a 17/22 couple to a 25/30 couple (in that case, a 12/17 couple).
you serious about the girl or you're just trying to mow the lawn for the summer?
when i was 24 i dated an 18 year old freshman in college - everything was great until i realized how young she really is, and how unprepared she was for real life. a year later i met my wife and got married 4 months after i met her - my wife is the same age i am. now that we're both 31 and 6 years into our marriage, i can't be happier with her and the status of my relationship. the 18-year old girl is now 24, still in school (getting her graduate degree), and i can't imagine marrying a student or starting a family with one.

But, truth be known. You really shouldn't learn this until your about 30 or so because you'll be looking for girls finished with school. In your case, I'd pass.
But this does remind me of a funny quote from "Dazed and Confused" ... " The best thing about high school girls is that I get older, and they stay the same age".
Good Luck

The rule of thumb for age difference that I've always used is your age divided by 2, then add 6 to find the "perfect" age for your mate. Using this method: 22/2+6=17
Since your even concidering I am under the impression that your not looking for a life long soul mate, so play ball, have a good time with it, and dont be supprised when it comes to a screaching holt because its not going to last imo, but it can still be fun for the time
