This is the toilet at the transport station in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. I was dying for a leak and couldn't believe the state of this thing. Thank god for peeing standing up (and my bladder pressure from doing it from a distance).

I was so amazed I took a photo. I offered the photo to a whole bunch of travel agents for their brochures but for some reason there were no takers.

Bugs and germs seek moisture. Pure alcohol has none. The alcohol needs to be diluted to some extent so that it can take up the bugs and then to kill the bug by an evaporative process. Pure alcohol is less volatile than diluted alcohol. Take some of your alcohol and pour some into a dry sink, stand over it and smell it. Then take a saucer of water, put it in the sink, pour an equal amount of the pure alcohol into the water. You'll smell it a lot stronger because it evaporates more profusely. The drying process of part of what kills the bugs.
You're better off to use something like Lysol as already suggested. It's got bug killers that linger after you've wiped it on.
