Default Amazing Young Artist

To paraphrase another poster: Her drawing looks better than the pictures my camera takes.

Did she use a tissue to do the shadin? My art teacher told me real artists do not do that. Real artists can control their pencils good enough to get that result. But shes still hella good at drawing.

She's 16. A "real" artist will make art, regardless of how it's done.

Amazing work.

Um...It seems like none of you guys took any type of art class during high school. This is beginning level portrait drawing and it was offer when I was in high school (at 16). I admit that it's better than average.......on a beginning level. She did it without the grid system. I had to learn with the grid system. After a few of these, you'll be just as good as her.

All you need is a pencil, charcoal pencil, and a tissue pencil or just tissue to shear the charcoal with.

Did she use a tissue to do the shadin? My art teacher told me real artists do not do that.
...and your teacher was right. But the problem is, it's not call shadin. I'm not sure what the proper name is, but it's something like charcoal portrait drawing.
