Did anyone just see the performance by Adam Lambert of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire?

That was awesome!!! Your opinions? To me it sounded kind of like Robert Smith and the Cure.

Hmm I thought it was aweful, but at the same time amazing. I knew he would struggle with country, but he proved he can sing rings around everyone there.

I would have liked to see more industrial as opposed to the eastern influence, the juxtaposition of the Cash/NIN could have been play a little more obviously

I think I called someone else the winner in another thread, but I recant and say he is going to win Idol this year.

That said, Anoop was the best performance of the night IMO

PS, The Cure is probably my favourite band, but he didn't sound like Smith at all

He's great, but I think his attitude will get in the way of the votes.

He comes off as looking like he thinks he's better than everyone else.

 

Well, he is..but you may be right.

On the other hand, if he got ditched tomorrow, he'd have a career 2 seconds later. The show already served it's purpose for him.

 

I REALLY hate him. He has been a pompous ass from day one and it pisses me off. The way he acts.. talks.. everything. He's a wannabe rocker. Albeit a good wannabe, he still annoys the hell out of me.

He'll make it big and it pisses me off because his attitude sucks monkey dick.

Although I do believe his Sitar version was his way of spitting in the judges and country music in general's eye.

It shows his inflexibility. So he may not be a country singer, but most of the others aren't either.

 

You're right, let me say me he reminds me of the cure with that song. His originality with the cash song was GREAT!! If he can do that with a CASH song I just wonder what he can do own his own. I really enjoy things outside the box.
