Soccer, whats that then ??

If you mean football, call it football

Your American football is a bunch of over sized whimps in body padding. Try putting those blokes on a rugby field or Aussie rules football, they wouldn't last five minutes.

What a spectacle that would be!!

Not content with inventing their own games so they can win, they also want to reinvent the ENGLISH language as well!!!!

why do Americans use the word "football" for a sport where 99% of the time it is contact with the hands? I still can't work that one out.

the reason we call football "football" is that 99% of the time we use the foot to kick the ball - kind of makes sense, So stop calling it soccer! even if you hate it.

I think American Football is a good name, plus there's the word "america" in it, which should please many flag-waving folks out there!

BTW it must be quite weird for those superstar professional Baseball players and American Footballers to go abroad and walk in the street without anyone recognizing them - I'm sure they love it in fact (if they ever leave American soil...)
But the opposite is maybe true : do anyone in the US know who Zidane or Figo are?

Well then they mustn't care to dominate swimming then. We got 20 million and we kick their ass!

If we had to outswim sharks and crocs to get to the local pub, we'd be damned fast swimmers too...
