I'm a week away from my 16th wedding anniversary. I have bought my wife over the years lots of jewelery etc.. I have done helicopter rides, suprise dinners and on and on.

The bottom line is I am out of ideas. Can any woman out there help me with an idea. My wife's is 40 yrs old, hobbies etc.. she likes to work out at the gym, she works on computers... I am not buying her a S2K, what should I do. Please help

Go with something she likes. If she likes jewlery, nice dinners, romantic getaways, go for it! No one says that you have to do something different each time if she enjoys and appreciates what you are doing.

I'd actually stay away from something that has to do with the gym or computers. Stick with the idea of you celebrating your love together and save the practical or utilitarian gifts for a different time.

How about making her something? Sounds like you've done alot of extravagent stuff but many times its the little personalize gifts that touch the heart deepest.

One time i took a photograph of my gf and I and took it to Fisherman's Wharf (San Francisco) where they have those street artists who sketch you up in pencil or charcoal in about 30 minutes. I gave them the photo and told them to sketch it up, buy a nice frame and wrap it up.

hmmm I have some more but they're kinda juvinile...stuff I did when I was in my early 20's hahhaa

Here's one:

Take her shopping to a busy mall. Stop in the middle of the mall, make like you have a ring to give her. While she's looking around in astonishment, scream out at the top of your lungs, "I LOVE THIS WOMAN....I REALLY LOVE THIS WOMAN!"

Then as she tries to shut you up in embarassment, pull out a diamond ring for her.

Her immediate reply should be, "I love this man, I really love this man." If you don't get that response, go to the store in the mall you bought the ring from and return it.

...so ok, it's not such an original idea and yes, I watch too much TV.

...another idea is, buy her a vacuum cleaner (or a new sponge for the dishes, or a new toilet scrub brush).

Tie a ring somewhere on that gift where it's not so easily visible until she takes closer look at the gift.

Last year, my wife and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary. My gift to her was a pack of 3 granny-panties. In the panties, there was an itinerary detailing our weekend away to one of her most favorite bed-and-breakfast places, with wine tasting galore scheduled, massage therapy sessions and a salon appointment, and horseback riding all weekend...all in a quaint little town we try to visit at least once a year.

I'm not sure how I'm going to top that one this year though.

How about a day at a local spa? Massage, pedicure, facial, the works! That way she can be pampered for most of the day and you can stay with the kids.

I've done the spa thing a few times, did the romantic weekend (would love to do again, but not an option this time).
I appreciate the suggestions, please keep them coming. I'm getting close to the date.
