I awoke this morning to news that there was another bombing in Bali which killed two Americans. My father is having a house built over there, so I immediately called to make sure he wasn't one of the American victims. I figured the odds were slim, and sure enough, he's okay, but the bombs that went off were within two miles of his house. He regularly visits Jimbaran Beach, the site of one of the bombings where all the restaurants are. Man, that's a little close for me. Oddly, he didn't know anything about it until I called and told him. He said he'd go down there and take some pics. I'll post them if I can get them. Glad he's okay!

Please don't turn this thread into a political flamefest. I just thought you all might be a good audience for my "close call" story.

I postponed a short vacation to Bali this year due to a couple of business trips. Maybe a good thing...

 

Kid blew himself up at the football game here today (OU vs. KState). Either suicide, or accidently set off charge while it was being placed....

 

Same boat as you. My mother moved to Bali. She heard the explosions too. Supposedly 3 bombs went off in different locations.
