19 years in coma

Personally and honestly I'd rather have been let go.

Before this story broke last week, a local morning radio show had people who had been in a coma call in. I was amazed about the number of people they found.

One girl had been shot in the back of the head when a loaded pistol fell and went off. I think she said she was in a coma for 3 months.

Another guy was robbed and beaten with a bat or pole by 3 other guys. Came out of the coma after several months.

The most intersting story was a kid who when he was 11 was working on the roof of the house with a family member. He fell off the roof and ended up in a coma for 4 years. They were kidding around with the kid (he's only 17 now) that he went into the coma not caring about women and woke up interested in them.

You never really know if you'll be in a coma for 3 months, 3 years, or 19.

I would definitely still want to live, even after 19 years, it would be interesting to see how the world has changed, and what is available to me now that wasn't available 19 years ago.. Of Course he would have to adjust to the modern world, which will take some getting used to, and seeing his friends and family in their new state would be a little weird, but give him a year or two, and he should be back to normal (or as normal as it will get after being in a coma for 19 years)

I didn't read the story, but my perspective may be a little different.

When I was in my early twenties, I was in an incident where I got stabbed 5 times.

When the paramedics got there, I was dead.

Well, they said I had no vital signs. I could still hear everything going on, but I couldn't move, or talk, or see anything even though my eyes were open.

Obviously, I survived the incident, but it left me with a newfound appreciation for being alive in this world.

I would want to come back, regardless of the situation.
