Touche! The point any fellow cop hater is trying to make is that any other profession that does not carry a badge would go directly to jail for the offenses a badge would protect you from. Thats why they call it a shield! Lets completely ignore the fact that cops are supposed to uphold the constution, uphold the law and protect the citizens... Why do the good cops not crack down on the bad ones and clean things up? Cops have the reputation they have because they EARNED IT!

I am close friends with several cops and have some in the family, they bitch along the same lines that I do so why dont you go cry to them how they hate themselves? They are also pissed that all the bad ones get away with the shit they do while everyone says its ok because their job is hard.... a family member who is a cop said that excuse is bullshit if you dont have what it takes to uphold the law and remain just then you need to pick another profession.

Yet your friends and family are the prime example of what every level headed person here is trying to say. Good cops HATE bad cops. When you look at the atrocities in life and the sects they've been commited under; whether it's religion, government, politics, law enforcement, etc.; none of these establishments are bad establishments. It's simply that, bad people get put into positions of authority/power and exercise that power in malignant ways. In short; the problem is simply that there are bad people in this world, who get employed or involved in a variety of different institutions. You can't hang every single cop in the name of some sour apples, it's not fair to these men and women. And you know it's sort of funny, since my brother is in the military, but everyone talks about how troops "protect our freedoms". I don't remember the last time I or my community was protected by the guys in BDU's, but I certainly remember all the times that it was protected by the boys in blue. I think you people forget that despite the sour apples, how much these people put their lives on the line ON A DAILY BASIS. If you want proof in the pudding; I think in the last 12 months there's been at least 6 cop shootings, 3 involving suspects with automatic weapons DURING BASIC HIGHWAY TRAFFIC VIOLATION STOPS and this is just Oakland. Guess what, the worlds a scary place and these guys for better or worse wade through that shit waste deep daily. And I know, this is shocking, but yes... some people become jaded by that shit.
Very true! Its also a fact in all professions that when you do your job and do it right, no one gives a shit and when you F up, its a big effing deal. The world can be a very unpredictable place and in some given places I cant say I blame cops for being on edge. Most of the cops that I have encountered really chill out and become cool after they see my CCW Permit, I think it helps them relax knowing I have a clean background.Its a sticky situation with the cop shootings, and from the inside, I hear that at times some of them who get shot didnt follow protocol and that greatly increased their risk of a shooting. I know that when they pull you over, first thing they should do before stepping out is run your plate. This will give them a huge insight on what they could potentially deal with, in a good majority of the shooting cases the plates will pop up as stolen. From there protocol is to call and wait for backup, they dont always do this. I dont know if its the god mentality or what encourages them to go against protocol and attenmpt a situation like that alone? Thats just one of many instanfces.
We could debate all day long on such a subject, but the good cops I know tell me that a cop will almost always make it home at the end of the day if they do things by the book and not take on the "IM GOD" mentality.
Im all for a cop doing their job if it is done in compliance with the laws they are hired to enforce, respect the law abiding citizens and they will return that respect.
I hardly ever listent to the media on anything, they are so fast to spin shit outta control its unreal. If you see a group of cops beating the shit outta someone, sure it will outrage most of us but I usually want to see footage if any exists and hear both sides of the story. I posted a video where a cop kicked the shit outta some dude who stole a S2K but our pussified mods deleted it, it was a night time video and was some punk in a civic. Cop caught him on a small chase and gave em afew good kicks... I laughed so damn hard at it! Id also look the other way if I seen cops beating the shit outa a child molestor or home robber. But in cases where the cop thinks hes god and beats someone down just because hes not being worshipped, thats the kinda cop I laugh at when he gets shot. But in truth, it is sad to see a good cop go down.
