anti rape condom
article
was reading this article this afternoon. while i understand the cause or perhaps reasons for creating this, i can only see it doing more harm than good. going to school in a city, i hear about rapes all the time. i would think the only people this might benefit are girls who find themselves in a date rape situation at a frat house or something, but then i doubt they would go with it since most of these girls go there with one thing on thier mind anyway (judging from a combination of clothes, dancing, and behavior) . i feel violent rapists would get more enraged as the article suggests might happen and i think further abuse would occur. what do you guys think

i think the rapist would pull it out.
It says that it can only be removed by surgery. Unless you're ballsy enough to slip barbs off your wang yourself without fainting.
And if you're a sex-hungry deviant, i doubt that in your moment of passion, you would be checking if the girl had one of these things on to begin with.
don't know. The perpetrator may be so angry to as killing the victim. I don't want to sound holier than thou but in Africa, human life is not as precious and killing another person, especially a woman who injured your manhood, is not what it is in the States

Ehlers, who showed off a prototype on Wednesday, said women had tried it for comfort and it had been tested on a plastic male model but not yet on a live man. Production was planned to start next year.

I agree it could escalate the violence and put the woman at risk of further harm. I have to take serious issue with the term 'anti-rape' since really it doesn't prevent the rape, just seems to make it easier to identify (and possibly prosecute) the perpetrator. That doesn't mean the victim isn't traumatized.
