As a new member of the s2ki club and almost a new owner of a S2000 (weeks away)
I have been reading alot of the posts here to get an idea of what this little car is all about, I have learned alot about it tanks to you all. I for one was bewildered by this "STOOK" name, bacisally what the hell was it and did I want to own it. Figured it out after asking of course and I came to the conclusion I did not like the word "STOOK". Yes it sounds like some prehistoric bird that couldn't fly and got his butt kicked all the time.
So with that said I would like to join your club even though I don't have my S2000 yet if you are still taking membership. If not, then I be have to be the lone anti-stooker.
I hope you will accept me into your elite club, thank you for consideration.

Do you realize that you are using the word "stook" every time you proclaim it as an abomination. In fact, each "Anti-stook club" in a signature just spreads the word around more. You really need to be the Pro-S2K Club, or the Pro-S2000 Club.

Do people actually say "stook", or are they just spelling it that way and pronouncing it "s-too-k" (ess-too-kay)? Hmmm... regardless, it looks weird. I'm opposed. Sign me up.

For us technical folk, how about if we call it the S0x7D0 or the S11111010000?

It appears that this little "Anti-Stook" movement is taking off. I noticed the membership roles are increasing. Congratulations! I applaud your efforts to be something other than the lemmings that you are. It's strikes me as odd that a club to not conform is, in itself, a show of conformity. Man, you people must really be desperate for friends. For some sense of belonging. To arbitrarily go "Anti-Stook" is, on the one hand, bold and different whilst sad and pathetic. I guess it beats doing crack!

Celebrate your lockstep unconformity!
Unite in the weakness of your boldness!!
Revel in your intolerance for tolerance!!!

I say: Enjoy it while it last. One day (I am thinking S2K daze '02) you will see the error of your ways when life pulls down it's pants and craps all over your parade.

Said with respect,

Mark

Mark,

I don't have a problem with Houstooks. I realize that it's a play on words and a very original way of ditinguishing yourselves. The word "stook" I just can't stand.

Respectfully,

Since I started this thing (sort of), I would like to point out some things.

My original signature said that I was the only member of the anti-"stook" club. If I would have put anti-" " club or Pro S2000 club, my point would not have been reached. Even though, I really hate saying the word stook, I had to put it in to show what I disliked.

Tedster PM'ed me and stated that he also hated the word and thus we had a little fun and created an anti-"stook" club. If I would have put Pro S2000 this whole thing would have not gotten like it is and nobody would have known how many members dislike the S2000 being called a stook. (I cringe everytime I type that word)

So my job is done, my point has been reached to many members...

Take care...
