Wal-Mart is the reason why so many jobs were shipped overseas in the search for ever lower prices.

I don't have the time to go into it, but if you do the research and seek the truth, Wal-Mart is probably the worst thing to happen to America as a whole.

This is not just my opinion. I will not name names or companies (having spoken and heard first hand from very senior execs in a few well know companies that I used to audit), but many Fortune 500s that do business with them despise them.

What exactly is everyone's problem with wal-mart?

It can't be the customers because that has nothing to do with Wal-mart in itself. Without Wal-mart, those people would be shopping at the mom-and-pop shops everyone keeps hailing.

The employees? Same thing...they'd just be working somewhere else.

The low prices? So Wal-mart sucks because they offer low prices?

IIRC, Wal-mart started as a mom-and-pop shop that was successful and expanded. Good for them. Why the hate? They were small at one point too and learned how to do business and compete. Any smart mom-and-pop shops would have done the same.

What's so great about having a lot of small mom-and-pop shops charging you higher prices?

Wal-Mart could have done a lot to support American business and use American suppliers, but it doesn't - it buys the Chinese made stuff and American people buy it.

OT, but I also don't buy gas from Hess/Citgo.

This reminds me of a news article where the reporter asked shoppers at the Dollar Tree about their shopping experiences there. One young woman replied something along the lines of "I love shopping at the Dollar Tree! It's so relaxed, not like Walmart, where I have to dress up to look my best." I'm assuming this young lady goes to Walmart to hunt for men. Anyone have the article to post?

Yeah, I watched the documentary awhile ago. I'm so glad cities like Irvine won't let companies like Walmart in. Target FTW!

Shop at Wal-Mart. Save money. Hurt US businesses. Loose your job.

I really dislike Wal-Mart. Both the stores themselves, and their business practices.

Here's a good article about what dealing with Wal-Mart can do to a company:

Most of us here DO have a problem with wal-mart

I ****ing hate wal-mart!

Walmart treat their employee like shit. They don't care anything about them..when all their stupid commercials on tv are like "great place to work for" "we are a team" bla bla bla. They lies about your working hours so they don't have to pay overtime. I know..because my brother used to work at wal-mart. You can say.."ok, no one tell them to work at wal-mart..go work somewhere else" Sadly most people can't..because ****ing walmart made all the mom and pop stores to go out of business..so people in the area have no choice but to work at walmart for whatever reasons. You should come in late at night..when they have inventory employee in the store putting up products. I swear I thought I was witnessing some slave shit back in Egypt time.

Walmart get their "great" prices from ROBBING manufacture and companies profits. If you're a company and 20-40% of your products depend on walmart stores. ****! you will be screw to be in the same boat with them. They tell you to do this and that to make them happy. I don't know how many times I heard this from sales people "damn..walmart just lowered the prices on us again" or "walmart wants to give us less shelf space for the other company" If you don't do it their ways..get ready to go out of business, because they will cut you off.

Anti wal-mart FTW. I work for Coca-Cola, and alot of Wal-Mart's have taken over or tried to take over the storing and supplying of Powerade. This means less money for my company, and less jobs for my company.

Not to mention how hard they **** local businesses that actually care about local neighborhoods and give back to the community.

Walmart doesn't pay livable wage and hands out food stamp, welfare etc information when they hire employees. If you factor the cost (taxes) of supporting all of this into the prices you "save" money on from walmart, it evens out.
