e-machine power supplies suxors.
Aside from that this does sound like a power supply issue. An additional HD should also be placed on a different rail if possible. Stringing HDs on the same one is asking for trouble.


As far as the RAM goes, make sure it is the same speed.
Of course the system will try to down clock the faster RAM, but in my expierence you'll see more blue screens from this than you will be willing to put up with.

I'd spend some money on a good power supply.

Ok thanks ya'll. I want to replace my old sticks with just these new ones then. Do I put these new sticks in the same spots as my old ones? Or the other 2 slots? I noticed the 2 slots for my current ram sticks are blue and the slot color for the other ones are black. Or it does it matter which slots these new ones go into?

I don't think it matters, as long as the old ones are in one color and the new ones are in the other.

Some rams are not compatible if it isn't the same ram company so on and so forth. Possibly your system can be over heating or your power supply does not have enough voltage to run the current update.
