Default Any cost-effective way to remotely power on a PC

I have a PC at home that I have RDP open on. I like to remote in from work during the day. The problem that I run into is that I have to turn the computer off at night (too loud), and I forget to turn it on before I leave. Is there some cost-effective way that I can turn the computer on remotely?

place a note somewhere to remind yourself to turn it on before you leave.

Also, check your BIOS. There may be an alarm setting that can automatically power it on at a certain time every day. But, Wake-On-LAN is your best bet if you can get it configured. I never had much luck setting it up on one of my PCs.

Motherboard doesn't have wake-on lan, but I think it may have the alarm feature. I'll check that tonight.

Get a christmas tree timer. You can get a PC to wake with power right?

It's better to set up your BIOS to power on automatically - it's simpler. I've heard a lot of people have problems getting Wake on LAN to work over a WAN.
