Frustrated by F-1 TV coverage in the US???
Big Red has your concern close to their heart...
"Ferrari president Luca Di Montezemolo has warned motor sport mogul Bernie Ecclestone that he will be marginalised from the world of Formula One racing when the present contract governing the sport expires at the end of 2007, Corriere dello Sport reported Thursday..."

Triple-H; The answer to both questions is YES. I just hope that SpeedVision can deal with Bernie, or whomever controls that authority so we still have something to watch on Sun. mornings besides NASCAR.

I have followed Ferrari for a long time. I was a fan when all they did was amaze the audience with their stupendous failures. Now they have a great team, good designers, good engineers, good strataticians, outstanding driver and more. The fact that Luca Di Montezemolo is willing to stand up and let Bernie know there are lots of teams that are sick and tired of his greedy ways warms my heart.
I don't get Speedvision where I rent and the landlord is not comfy with me putting in a dish, so I have seen all the races in 2001 on video, provided by my friends. This is a bit like a root canal, the pain is slow to build, but in the end it is beyond words. I remember when FOX Sports had coverage delayed by an hour or so, that was great. Of course I really preferred the days of ESPN2 live coverage. Every race Sunday I was up and camped out in front of the TV at 7:00 AM. I was there watching live on Mother's day when Senna met his last corner. These are powerful memories and greedy Bernie does not have a clue!

From what I hear, Speedvision (which will soon be called the Speed Channel) will no longer carry the f1 rights (though they are trying hard to retain). WHat will supposedly happen is FoxSports (owner of Speed Channel) will get the F1 rights. I read this in a recent issue of AutoWeek.
I hope this doesn't happen as I've come to really like the commentary provided by Bob Varsha, David Hobbes, and Sam Posey.
Oh...and to answer your original question....I'm a die-hard Michael Schumacher fan and therefore love Ferrari. With JPM coming through as the next golden kid though....might soon be pulling for the Bimmer Buttheads.

kadeshpa; I am with you on this one! The Speedvision commentary crew does a great job. If I could I would like to change the direction of this thread? What do you guys think of the direction that F1 is taking? Case in point, traction control. It's my sense that the only reason that it was allowed was that the governing body figured it wasn't clever enough to keep up with the various teams designers when they implemented new tech. I liked the days when it was driver vs. driver and that it was truly the driver that made the call on the way the car performed. I guess that's an outdated simplistic view. The combination of a high tech circuit board and a young man willing to put his life on the line is exciting..., but it's consequence leaves me cold as a stone. Mike S. his brother do a nice job, but its Nigel and Senna going at it that made me smile. How I yearn for battles like that again. Technology has it's place, but give me a great drivers anytime!
I would pull the wings off. That would tilt the balance towards mechanical grip rather than aero grip.
Good racing occurs when a car has more power than grip. However, this will never happen because
the wings represent big billboards.
