Any Fashion Gurus here?
Okay, have a question regarding the pant legs of men's dress pants, where should they end? I've heard where the cuff meets the top of the laces. I've also heard it's supposed to stop half way down the back side of the shoe (whatever that part is called).
Does anyone have the correct answer to this? Please provide pics if you can.
Thanks,
Warren

First, why are you cuffing your pants?
It's all personal preference, there is no correct answer, I personally like mine about half way down the back of my shoe. Too short and people might start telling you that the flood is over...

Its all what you prefer... I usually prefer a full-break... I'm 6'2" and taller guys should sport a full break. It is also considered more "trendy" and "pushing the edge" than a medium break. A Full break means the pants are hemmed to reach the top of the heel of a dress shoe, it will break naturally over the front of the shoe. If you are tall, I would recommend the full break.
A more conservative look is the medium break. There is nothing wrong with it... It still has a break, but not as much of one. If you are average height, you can get away with this... Look at how in the back, the pant is a little bit lower than in the front.

A short break is where there is no break in the pants. Typically people would refer to it as "flooding" or wearing "high-waters". There is no crease at all, which can make it very specificly and neatly tailored for you. The most expensive designers in the world (i.e. Armani and Versace) mostly use the short break... you won't be able to pull it off and look good unless you are slender with a slender waist though (30"-32") If you were to walk into an Emporio Armani store somewhere, you would see how the majority of their pants are tailored in this way... I have one Armani suit, and it is tailored with the short break with a very form fitting, but not tight top, to make you look extremely slender (the high fashion look).

Thanks for the tips and the pics. The pants in the pics are usually how I wear mine. However, the problem seems to be when I walk. As I look at myself in a full length mirror while walking, I can see my socks as I take a step and this makes me wonder if my pants are too short.
However, when I stand still, they look like the ones in the pics. Who knows, maybe I'm just being anal or obsessive...

That's going to happen a little no matter how they are cut, same with when you sit down. The only ways to fix it is to duct tape the pants to your shoes or don't bend your knee and walk like frankenstein.
Your typical fashion "expert" will tell you you are supposed to have them so you can't see the socks when standing or walking... but you will always see some sock every once and awhile (unless you have your pants so long that the back bottom is dragging under your shoes) ...So I wouldn't worry about it
