Our graphic designer has the time of his life. Gets told what to do at the last minute and performs miracles for us all. I don't know what we would do without one. He does all our catalogs down to the art, photos, and much more. I think he likes his job. He put together a killer computer himself for the work. I have done some of his work when he is out on vacation and it is a blast. For sure something I would do if I didn't have the other fun job I have. R&D is funner. If you go for website design and the works you are a very diverse and usefull tool for a company. Get in on a starter company and stay with it when it grows and your salary and position grows with it. I sarted at this company when it was at $400,000 a year. In the past five we are now going to break 12 million.

all my portfolio is at home...not sure on the legalities of me posting stuff from work either with release dates and etc. The CD's are all copyrighted of course and I would hate to get fired over something so trivial as posting the design work online. Most of my student work wasn't even that great. A lot of the stuff here I have to pump out and don't get to put a lot of thought into it, not to mention I have to please someone else, so sometimes the ugly stuff is what gets printed.

I know what you mean. I can rarely take pride in my work anymore.

your websites look good, that's something I just never got into yet was the the web. I'd like to just lots of time it consumes. What program did you do most of the sites in? Lots of Flash I noticed.

Thanks. I use Adobe Photoshop to do my graphics and layouts, then I cut it up in Adobe Imageready. Afterwards, I do all the coding and so forth in notepad, sometimes Dreamweaver. I'm starting to like Dreamweaver more because I can see the changes I make immediately. Flash was only used for the iForged site. All the other sites did not have Flash.

you ever tried using GoLive? I've done minor work with Fireworks and Image Ready. Photoshop I use on a daily basis of course. So you hardcode with html? I like Dreamweaver and GoLive because I don't have to learn to hardcode, I can just drop in what I want...

Yeah I've been hard coding since I was in eight grade. It's a hard habit to break. But after I slice up the layout in Imageready, the layout is essentially done for me and all I have to do is tweak it and add things in. So it's not like I'm doing a whole lot of html work. Is GoLive any good? I'm always looking for ways to make my life easier.

I am really considering learning php and getting more in depth with Flash. Those two things will make me more money.

PHP? GoLive seems really similiar to Dreamweaver, just a little different enviroment. I never have hard coded, one guy I went to college with won Macromedia's web contest and doesn't know any html. He does all Flash work....its amazing.

www.ranopsubhawong.com is his site....
