Any ideas for a creative way to present a ring?
I've been thinking about surprising my wife with a ring or some kind of jewelry for our anniversary, but the thought of simply opening up a jewelry box is so boring.
I was thinking "I must be more creative than that!" Unfortunately, it turns out I'm not!
But then again, you don't have to be Einstein to realize that sometimes knowing WHERE to find an answer is as good as knowing it yourself....
So I turn to you my S2000 family.
So how about it? What are some memorable ways you've given or received a jewelry gift? I'm thinking it should be somewhat fun, not too "mushy" cause it would be out of character for me, but memorable none the less. (if you want to tell us "mushy" anyway, please share, it should make a good story).

When I proposed to my fiancee(sp?) I took a big tub of chalk and on the parking lot of her apartment complex I wrote, Sara will you marry me? in huge letters. I had to make sure it was a nice day outside and I left work early. Good thing because it took me about 2 hours to get it done. Then when she got home, she drove right over it and was really surprised. I was watching from afar and when she got out of her car I came up to her and asked her. You could write something like Happy Anniversery on the street or something...just an idea...she loved it btw...
tomspedale,
i'm having problems following the logistics here
so did she see it as she was driving over it, or did you have to "explain" it to her? weren't you worried that other people would come home and cover up parts of it?
glad it worked out though!

I made reservations for a nice restaurant earlier in the day, and gave the host the ring (wrapped up) to be presented on the table when we arrive.
My gf loved it!
Of course... this was no $20k Cartier ring, so it might not work for you.

put pictures in a photo album, put the ring in the sleeve behind the last picture. look through it with her then be like, "there's one more pic". do it with your baby pictures or something or pictures of you two together that you've compiled.
Ha ha ha. I'm hoping to see some more interesting suggestions from the jokesters out there (c'mon, lay it on him)
You're an avid autocrosser, so here's mine:
recreate the scene from "Driven" where Sylvester Stallone picks up quarters on the track with his tires, only replace the last quarter with the ring.
But seriously; if you can find a way to put the ring in a fortune cookie, that would be cool (if you don't mind Chinese food).<------That's Junko's idea BTW
