Default Any RC Car enthuses?

I went Saturday to my Moms for Christmas, and my brother and I got a wild hair up our arses to go get a nice RC car.

I picked one up for about $350 with the remote, charger and battery. I know nothing about these, other than if you take it in snow, you have to go buy another speedo for $80.

there was a "RC" thread just last week started by Ccarnel -

do you have to put trucks like that together any more? I know TRAXXAS makes lots of RTR (ready to run) stuff, but wasn't sure if other companies had done that as well.?

you used to spend about 10 hours putting these damned things together (like a regular model but with moving parts).

There are more RTR kits than there used to be, but most companies still offer more kits that you have to put together than RTR.

Anyway, the RC10T4 is no toy - if you break it, it will be pricey. Its a racing truck and as such it is intended to be lightweight. Don't expect to run it into a curb and not come away with a broken a-arm or something...

I think for just running around in the street/backyard you might have picked up something a bit overkill.

I agree, a bit of overkill for backyard bashing, but if you ever decide to go racing there will not be much that you will have to change.
