Anyone know where you stand if you buy a used car from someone that seems OK.. You don't (stupidly) get it checked by a mechanic and you sign an 'sold as is' peice of paper. A week later a major part breaks but its under warranty. You then find out that its been in an accident even though the Car Fax is clean. Do you have any rights?

 

If you bought it "sold as is" then you have no rights. The accident must not have been reported to the police or insurance, that is why it isn't on Car Fax. Sounds like the person new there would be a problem and that is why it went "as is".
