I ordered the PPV, ECW one-night stand this past sunday. There were some good match-ups (Sabu vs Ray Mysterio), but it seemed kind of watered down compared to some of the old and insane ECW shit. Did anyone else watch it?

 

Funny, I was going to post a wrestling topic but didn't want to get flamed. I didn't see it but read about it on pwtorch.com and it sounded like it was awesome.

I heard the crowd was really hot for the Cena/RVD match. Based on what I've read I would have payed double to be there. I watched both Raw and the ECW show last night and I thought the ECW was some of the whackest shit I have seen in a while. Everybody was getting heat it seemed.

 

Do you guys get cable in Oklahoma?

 

Sports entertainment I was having a conversation with a friend yestedray about how it seems like wrestling cycles for me every 5 years. I'll watch it for a while and then I'll just get turned off to it for whatever reason. Then 5 years later or so I'll just flip it on by chance and something will suck me right back in. You can almost set your watch to it.

 

I watched both the PPV and the ECW show last night.

The PPV was decent.

The TV show was horrible.

ECW was what got me back into watching wrestling back about 8-9 years ago. The matches they had back then were much more fast-paced and the wrestlers were using moves I'd never seen before. They truly were innovators back then.

Now, the product seems to have been watered down by the WWE. Do yourself a favor and pick up some old ECW dvds and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Oh, and would they please, please license the old entrance themes the wrestlers had? Having the Sandman come out to anything other than Enter Sandman is just plain wrong!

 

Everything about the old ECW is slowly washing away. From the crowd interaction to the arena to the slightly amateurish camera work. No need to scrub that stuff because it WORKED. When they came on last night and I saw the show wasn't in an ECW-like arena I was like

 

You couldn't be more right. You can blame the "Enter Sandman" thing on Metallica, they are the biggest pieces of shit in my opinion. They have all the money in the world and still are jooish with their music/money etc. Budweiser also had some issue with him wearing the old school busweiser shirts. It gets to be extremely ridiculous.
